The flap pockets are designed as loose pockets (only the top is sewn to the main body, leaving them slightly raised). If you're concerned about them flapping, you can secure them using the hooks on the loops on the inside of the pockets. When the hooks are released, they eliminate bulk when bending down or riding a motorcycle. These loops are also useful for attaching carabiners and other accessories! The material is 12-ounce indigo denim woven in Kojima, Okayama Prefecture, one of Japan's leading denim production areas. It uses a special weaving method to approximate the look and feel of selvedge denim. It uses 7-count warp threads dyed with dark indigo, giving it a vintage-like appearance and allowing you to enjoy its aging process. The product has been pre-washed.
